Best Value AND Best Quality Living in the Area|Recommended: YesIn the past 6 years since moving to Baltimore, I've lived in Tindeco Wharf, Porter Brewers Hill and now 101 Ellwood. I lived at Tindeco for 4.5 years. Tindeco's location cannot be beat BUT the units are very dated and the utilities are high. Example At Tindeco, I had a 1-level 836 sf studio with 10 ft ceilings average BGE bill in the winter was 200 month. At 101 I have a 2-level with loft, 20 foot ceilings and over 900 sf. Highest BGE bill I've had at 101 is 89. Tindeco also nickels and dimes you to death. 150 month for parking in a dumpy garage, 50 month per pet, you have to buy passes for a friend to join you at the pool, etc. By the time you add everything up, a 1600 month studio is more like 2k month. Way too much money for cheap carpet, linoleum and 90s tiles. The HVAC system is annoyingly loud too...constantly turning the TV up and down. Office staff is defensive and cranky. Maintenance clearly has a shoestring budget...taking the MacGyver approach to most repairs. Oh, and mice. Lots of mice. The Porter has GORGEOUS finishes but don't let that fool you. It's all lipstick on a pig, so to speak. The walls are sooooooo thin that you can literally hear EVERYTHING in every apartment around you. How thin are they, you ask I knew when my neighbors got up in the morning, when they went to bed, when they were doing laundry, when they had company over, when they were gone for the weekend, when they were taking a shower. Way TMI. And don't get me started on the freight train whistles at all hours of the day. The noise levels made it a very stressful place to live. What I love about 101 Ellwood - Nicely updated apartments. Not overdone but definitely nice. In fact, the first thing out of everyone's mouth when they first walk in is, Wow, this is really nice - Generally it's a quiet, tranquil place to live. I've had just one issue with excessive noise but building management Kenny addressed it apologetically, swiftly and firmly with the tenant and I've not had an issue since. I had the complete opposite experience at The Porter. Management didn't want to deal with complaints they were constantly making excuses for why they couldn't reprimand a neighbor for excessive noise or, in so many words, telling me to suck it up...for 1800 month. - The best overall value. For 200- 300 less a month plus the savings from better utilities than Tindeco and Porter, you get a more spacious and nicely updated unit with reasonable monthly utilities. A warm community with nice common spaces grills, hammocks, rooftop deck, gym and periodic gatherings outings. - A professional, pleasant and helpful building manager and leasing staff.
Thank you for your feedback, Michelle, we're so glad your experience here at 101 has far surpassed that of your other communities. We are happy to help in any way we can, so if you ever have an issue please be sure to contact our office. Thanks again!
Perfect Price- And everything Else |Recommended: YesI have lived in 101 Ellwood since the end of Oct. 2017, and it has been great. Everyone in the building is friendly residents, leasing office, maintenance and if I ever need something from the leasing office or maintenance, which hasn't been often, I've been helped right away. The office staff is great about helping out with packages and deliveriesthere are lockers in the mailroom for packages, or if it won't fit in a locker they'll hold it in the leasing office for you. Office staff will notify you right away if you receive a delivery, everyone is good with communication in general. The building itself is well-maintained. The leasing office staff holds social events for residents which is a good way to meet people in the building. It's a wonderful place for dogsand their owners. It's right next to the park and everyone in the building is understanding about having a pet. Having parking in the building is a huge benefit. I feel safe being able to park my car in the garage. One time there was an issue with the automatic door to the garage a malfunction that was quickly fixed during the interim, while they were fixing it, they had a security guard standing outside the garage for us. I thought that was impressivethey are pretty on top of things. I've only lived here in the winter so I haven't experienced the courtyard or rooftop deck, but am looking forward to doing so. The gym is beautifulit's huge, and never super crowded. I am not much of a workout person but I appreciate it. Finally, I think rent here is a touch lower than other apartment complexes in Baltimore. I highly recommend 101 Ellwood to anyone in the market for an apartment Jen G.

Clean, modern, efficient, well-kept, overpriced.|Recommended: YesThe grounds and apartments are well-kept. Maintenance is great at fixing things quickly and efficiently. The residents and staff are very friendly in general. I like that it is dog-friendly, right next to an awesome park, has covered parking, and is a secured building. The apartment space is a good size, though overpriced. I may have to move this next year due to the rent being so high, but I will be sad to go.

Its an OK living experience|Recommended: YesThe rooms are nice, area is usually clean. I find it frustrating that the rules specials have changed so much and that WPM is inflexible with current residents. For example, I'm told all parking is included now in new leases, and cannot be refused. But, as a resident for over a year, I still have to buy my own parking, even though I'm paying market value along with other apartments that already include parking. I would maybe recommend this building to a friend.
Dear Nicole, As the manager of 101 Ellwood, I wanted to take the opportunity to first thank you for choosing our community to be the place you call home. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your living experience at our community. I apologize that your experience has not met your expectations. Our goal as the management of the community is to provide our current and future residents with excellent customer service and a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained home and community. As for the market rent of your apartment, it is currently listed as higher than what you are paying. Market rent is subjected to change at any point. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns in further detail and work with you to address the issues that you have mentioned. Please feel free to contact me directly at 410-276-9090. I look forward to hearing from you.
Nice place to live in Baltimore|Recommended: YesThis is our second time renting here at 101 Ellwood. We rented here in 2014 to be near our son who lives in Canton. We were here from Boston to take care of our 1st grandchild. Now we are back to take care of the second grandchild and couldn't wait to get back to 101 Ellwood. My wife loves being near the park where she walks with the grandchildren. We also love having a gym so accessible. I like the roof deck for grilling during warm weather. The indoor parking is a great asset. We have met many wonderful people at the complex and have made new friends. But most important of all is the wonderful staff personnel. Nothing makes a place more undesirable than having to deal with poor staff personnel.
Great modern apartment with modern finishes and amenities|Recommended: Yesgreat staff and modern finishes-only request would be for more storage
Nice place to live|Recommended: YesThe building is great with an easy and safe indoor garage. It's nice having the gym on sight. The location is also good, near groceries store, downtown canton and Patterson park my dog loves the park . Staff members are AWESOME, they always make sure that I am happy with the place and always help me if I need. 4 starts to the noise because sometimes the neighbor above plays extremy loud music, so I am not sure if his her speakers are just above my bedroom or if the building has very thin walls. But overall, I love this place and I definitely recommend living here
What I was looking for in city living|Recommended: YesThe unique floor plans and layouts coupled with the kind and helpful staff make 101 Ellwood perfect for my lifestyle. My dogs are cozy and resident events year round keep things interesting. The noise question is poorly worded. If 5 stars represents I am satisfied with the noise level I'd give 101 Ellwood a rating of 4 stars.
Clean, convenient, feels like home.|Recommended: YesThe things we enjoy most - the easy parking, awesome location to the park, clean facilities and responsiveness of staff - Nicole is so accessible and great We LOVE having the gym that is always open and never crowded. Our only complaint is we are on the ground floor and the courtyard lights that stay on all night make it very bright in our apartment while we sleep. We understand the need for the lights all night for safety reasons, the large windows are great but make it hard for curtains and the blinds don't keep the light out. I think its just the location of particularly our bedroom in relation to the lights.
